All about Human Genome

Every organism, including humans, has a genome that contains all of the biological information needed to build and maintain a living example of that organism. The traits such as brown, blue or gray eyes; black, brown or blond hair are transmitted from parents to offspring through discrete heritable units called "genes" which can be sorted and passed along, generation after generation, in undiluted form.

The biological information contained in a genome is encoded in its deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and is divided into discrete units called genes. You can visualize the DNA through the following diagram.
